Exterior flooring
Decking made of tropical wood has been a popular solution for outside wooden terrace, walkways, balconies and other exterior areas for many years. Nowadays, there are many deckings made of tropical wood on the market which might look the same, but there is a big difference in the mechanical and physical properties of the decking and the quality of the wood. For example Bangkirai, one of the best known wood species, has been taken out of our assortment of goods due to its instability. We have chosen only the best quality and the most resistant wood for you: Massaranduba. Ipe, Cumaru and Merbau
Thanks to its origins, tropical wood has very specific properties - very high resistance to weather changes (no impregnation is required), high hardness(density is between 690 - 1050 kg/m3 when the moisture content is 15%) and higher durability.
One of the innate properties of the wood is gradual losing of its natural colour. The wood changes its colour and aquires a silvery grey patina due to the effect of rain and the sun. The same applies for exotic wood. We would recommend to oil the wood (natural or with pigment) to preserve the natural colour of the wood.
Wood is becoming a more and more popular material in garden architecture.
In comparison with stone, wood creates a warm feel and in combination with a green lawn or a pool it creates a magnificent impression.
The construction system of terrace boards is made of fine and deep groove profiles. The deep groves and their shapes minimise the risk of slipping in the pool area and they ensure easy maintenance.
We would recommend using fine grooved decking in areas where you are going to use garden furniture.
